Data Scientist

In the Advanced Analytics & Artificial Intelligence (AI) market in which Ammagamma operates, the Data Scientist represents the pivotal role in building analytical models capable of transforming massive amounts of data into business information. He or she is able to understand business needs and devise a strategy to achieve identified objectives by leveraging the data at hand. Passionate about technology, he/she keeps abreast of algorithmic developments and is open to ranging across disciplines to fully understand the specific domains on which he/she works.

The incumbent will be specifically responsible for:
  • Designing and developing the mathematical kernel for solutions that improve the client's business performance;
  • Understanding the client's business needs and devising an algorithmic/functional strategy to achieve identified goals;
  • Collaborating with the team by holding a central position in code development using internally developed libraries and frameworks while contributing to the optimization of the client's business process and to the advancement of toolbox and data science product development;
  • Managing the implementation and optimization life cycle of Machine Learning and Deep Learning models: training on input data, testing, performance validation and putting the model into production as a service, while promoting technical cross-fertilization among team members.

In this role, it will also be very useful to provide ideas for the design of graphical architectures aimed at data visualization along with the ability to transform numbers into knowledge and insight through easily understandable visualization and with communicative strategy.

  We would like to get in touch with resources with the following requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of Python or other scripting language for data analysis and data manipulation;
  • Experience with Machine and Deep Learning techniques in areas such as Demand Forecasting, Entity Extraction, Document Classification, Anomaly Detection, Churn Prediction, Recommendation Engines;
  • Excellent understanding of supervised regression and classification problems, and not, and knowledge of key algorithmic methodologies;
  • Previous experience in developing control systems (retroactive PID, MPC model predictive control, etc.) and with libraries or tools for data visualization and analysis (Pandas, for example);
  • Familiarity with code versioning systems;
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, database construction and related management;
  • Ability to interact independently, at least in basic operations, with Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows systems via the command line interface;
  • Curiosity in exploring new technologies and creativity in approaching novel problems that may need solutions that are not immediately evident;
  • Mindset that can combine business and technical needs;
  • Flexibility, proactivity and excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Willingness to travel to customers' sites.
